In our NEMO sharing in day 1, we advised to use a simple and short WhatsApp Form so that customer doesn’t have to fill a lot of details.

But, there are merchants who use a long form and yet their customer find it isn’t a problem.

Long or short factor on ones form depends on the merchant ; how many details that merchant should collect from customers or extra information that merchants should notify.

For example, you’re selling convenient food. Other than name and telephone nmumber, you need the delivery time and some operational info need to be convey right?

Below is an example that we have.

This type of business, the buyer’s psychology are :

  • – Simple choice and quick payment.
  • – Foods are delivered on time.
  • – No purpose to discuss another further for simple things.
  • – Food arrived as ordered.
  • – Turned off if need to fill in a lot of details or ordering instructions unclear

So we do suggest to simplify the form. Simple yet easy to understand for customers.

Side orders can be setup as add-on / variant during product upload or create a set.

But things are different compare for non-food businesses like service-based business that need additional details.

An example, homestay business like below.

As you can see, merchant have to create a lengthy form because of the details and infos needed from customers.

But, there is a possibility that the prospect did not continue to fill the details because they felt turned off. They just want to ask a few questions (maybe).

If you felt the your prospect behaved as such, simplify the form. For the homestay example, maybe just to pax numbers and leave the ‘Pay Now’ button deactivated.

This will give prospects an easier form to fill and need to contact you directly for further questions and infos.

So, the choice of using a long or short form really depends on number of details needed form the customer.

At the same time, the details requested must not leave a bad impression to the prospect.
